Jerod Haase (born April 1, 1974 in South Lake Tahoe, California) is the head coach of the UAB Blazers men's basketball team. He was hired in March 2012 to take the place of Mike Davis.
Haase played at the University of California in 1992-93, then transfered to the University of Kansas. He was named a Big Eight Conference newcomer of the year with 15.0 points per game. In his senior year the Jayhawks finished 34-2 and Haase was nominated for the Naismith and Wooden awards. He reached top 10 rankings at Kansas in career assists, 3-pointers and steals. He went on to complete his bachelor's degree in 1997 and a master's in business at Kansas in 2000 while working as the Jayhawks' director of basketball operations. He alternated years on the Kansas bench as an assistant to head coach Roy Williams, then followed Williams to the University of North Carolina in 2003. Since 2009 Haase has worked exclusively as a coach, assisting with the Tarheels varsity team and coaching the junior varsity squad five times.
Haase was hired by UAB athletic director Brian Mackin to coach the Blazers in March 2012. He was offered a five-year contract worth $475,000 per year, plus performance incentives.
