John Earl Simmons (born July 7, 1924 in Birmingham) was a professional baseball and basketball player.

Simmons attended college at New York University. He played basketball during the 1946-1947 season with the Boston Celtics. During the 1949 baseball season, Simmons played 62 games for the Washington Senators.
