Kermit A. Johnson (born in Boaz) was superintendent of Jefferson County Board of Education and the 10th president of University of Montevallo.

Johnson, a graduate of Jacksonville State Teachers College, was Jefferson County superintendent from 1959 until 1968, at which time he was named president at Montevallo, where he served until 1977.

Montevallo's Kermit A. Johnson Field, rededicated in 1981, and Pinson's Kermit A. Johnson Elementary School were named in his honor.
