The Original Ku Klux Klan of the Confederacy was a violent, paramilitary Ku Klux Klan offshoot founded by Asa Carter.

Carter, who had already founded the North Alabama White Citizens Council because his anti-Semitic views were too virulent for the Alabama White Citizens Council, created the KKK of the Confederacy to compensate for the inaction of the existing Klan groups. The members wore robes in Confederate gray rather than white, while Carter, the "Grand Marshal", wore khakis and paratrooper boots.

The rituals of membership in the KKK of the Confederacy included bloodletting from the wrist and the signing of documents in blood.

On September 2, 1957 members of the group abducted Edward "Judge" Aaron, an African-American mechanic, and tortured him in their "lair", a cinder-block shack. After castrating him with a razor, they poured kerosene and turpentine on his wounds and passed his severed testicles around in a paper cup.

Two of the members present turned state's evidence, leading to the conviction of four others. They were each sentenced to 20 years in prison, but their sentences were commuted by one of George Wallace's appointees shortly after he took office in 1963.
