Lisa Mason (born Lisa Elaine Carter on November 22, 1969 in Huntsville; died July 9, 2019) was a radio personality on WBPT FM 106.9 "Birmingham's Eagle".
Mason, the daughter of Bob and Eleanor Mason of Huntsville, earned her bachelor of arts in English and theater at Samford University in 1992.
She began her radio career at WYSF and then reported on traffic conditions for WZZK-FM. In 1997 she succeeded Cherri "Mason" Ellis on the long-running "Mason and Dixon" talk program with Richard Dixon at WZRR-FM, and stayed with him when the program later moved to WAPI-AM. She became known during that period for her quick wit and sometimes dark sense of humor.
Mason left Dick Broadcasting in 2000 to take a morning slot on 103.7 FM "The Q". She joined WBPT in 2003. Her "Lisa Mason Morning Show" was honored as Large Market Morning Show in 2017 by the Alabama Broadcasters Association.
Mason has also appeared in several independent films, including Interplanetary (2008) and produced a short from her own screenplay, "Lullaby Procedure".
. Mason became engaged to Adam Johnsey in May 2019 while battling a digestive disorder. She died from complications in July of that year.
