Bibb County
- February 25: Desta Dodson Byrd, 29, was found shot to death near her driveway at Brierfield Estates. - January 12: Bobbi Ingram, 38, and her daughter died from shotgun blasts to the head at their house on U.S. Highway 231, south of Rockford. Her son, Joe Daniel Stallions, was interviewed at the time, but not charged. Further investigation produced enough evidence to charge him with capital murder in August 2020. (report)

- August 5: Lee Holdbrooks, 32, was shot to death at Ferguson Enterprises in Pelham by delivery driver Alan Eugene Miller, who was convicted and sentenced to death.
- August 5: Christopher Yancy, 28, was also killed by Miller at the same location.
- August 5: Terry Jarvis, 39, was shot to death by Miller at Post Airgas, a previous employer also in Pelham.
Tuscaloosa County
- September 23: Stephanie Collins was found dead on Moody Swamp Road in West Tuscaloosa. An acquaintance, Eric Horton, was suspected, but not located until he was found serving a drug sentence at the St Clair Correctional Facility. He was charged with murder in May 2009 and indicted by a grand jury. [1]
