- August 5: Lee Holdbrooks, 32, was shot to death at Ferguson Enterprises in Pelham by delivery driver Alan Eugene Miller, who was convicted and sentenced to death.
- August 5: Christopher Yancy, 28, was also killed by Miller at the same location.
- August 5: Terry Jarvis, 39, was shot to death by Miller at Post Airgas, a previous employer also in Pelham.

- September 23: Stephanie Collins was found dead on Moody Swamp Road in West Tuscaloosa. An acquaintance, Eric Horton, was suspected, but not located until he was found serving a drug sentence at the St Clair Correctional Facility.
