Mark Lanter is a drummer / percussionist, residing in Birmingham. He is Instructor of percussion for the University of Alabama (Tuscaloosa) Department of Music, and from 2005 to 2007 was director of the UAB Jazz Ensemble and the UAB Jazz Combo.

His professional experience includes work with many noted musicians, including Tippy Armstrong, Vova Nova, The Cast (aka known as Forecast), jazz pianist / vocalist Ray Reach and many others.
