Mary Moore

Mary Moore (born July 23, 1948 in Birmingham) is a member of the Alabama House of Representatives representing District 59.
Moore completed a bachelor of science at Tuskegee University in 1970, earned a certificate in medical technology at UAB in 1971, and completed a master's in business administration at Alabama A&M University in 1983. From 1971 to 2000 she worked as a medical technologist for the Birmingham VA Medical Center. She served on the Birmingham Board of Education from 1998 to 2002. She is a former president of the ACIPCO Finley neighborhood and also served on the Birmingham Industrial Water Board and the board of the Birmingham Trade Mart.
In the 2002 general election, Moore challenged one-term incumbent William Parker for the District 59 seat in the State Legislature. She was re-elected in 2006 and 2010.
Moore is a member of Evergreen Missionary Baptist Church. She has one son, Michael.
