The Charles A. McCallum Basic Health Sciences Building is a 9 story modern red-brick laboratory building on the UAB campus on the northwest corner of 20th Street and University Boulevard. It was constructed in 1985 on the former site of the Jefferson County Public Health Building. It is adjacent to the Tinsley Harrison Tower and was designed by Adams, Peacher, Keeton, Cosby of Atlanta, Georgia.
The building is named for former UAB president Charles A. "Scotty" McCallum.
