Mt Calvary Presbyterian Church at 9392 Cedar Mountain Road in Clay was founded by early settlers of Jefferson County in 1806. In 1925 the members collected field stones and erected a sanctuary.

In 1981 Mt Calvary joined the Presbyterian Church of America. In 2006 they celebrated their bicentennial.
