Robert V. Carter (born c. 1935) is an adjunct professor in Alabama State University's School of Education and a candidate for the Birmingham Board of Education, District 2 in the 2009 election.

Carter earned his bachelor's degree in English and history at Alabama A&M University in 1956 and then completed a master's degree in education at Alabama State University in 1961 and a master's in theology at the former Alabama Christian School of Religion in Montgomery in 1984.

Carter has worked as a teacher, assistant coach, principal, professor, academic dean and administrator. He was involved in the political campaigns of Don Siegelman, Joe Reed and Donald Watkins.
