Roper Tunnel is an 800 foot long tunnel on the current ATN Railway under Roper Tunnel Road and through Roper Hill in Trussville. Construction began in April 1910 and was completed in June 1911 by Vaughan Construction Company of Roanoke, Virginia as part of the Louisville and Nashville Railroad's Mineral Belt line.
