Slaton, McGlathery & Burwell was a warehouser of cotton and dealer in carriages, wagons, agricultural implements and fertilizers. Samuel Slaton, W. W. McGlathery, and T. O. Burwell opened an office at 2100 1st Avenue North in 1884. The firm built its warehouse at 2125 Morris Avenue in 1886.
