Southern Toy Co. was a retail toy store founded in 1946 by brothers Billy and D. V. Edmundson. Billy lived in Birmingham and managed the store while his brother resided in Ponte Vidra, Florida.

In 1950 the company had two locations, one at 900 27th Street South, and another in the Cobb Lane Apartments at 1318–1320 20th Street South.

On September 13, 1954 the company opened a new 10,000 square foot air-conditioned store at 2607 Clairmont Avenue.

Billy Edmundson died of a heart attack in May 1958. The store remained open until at least 1960.
