Teams

Are the team links too redundant with the "Alabama vs. Auburn" links? --Lkseitz 09:37, 1 February 2007 (PST)

  • Yes, I would just list them once. --Wheresdib 09:59, 1 February 2007 (PST)

Locations

I would also add a few more locations that the games were held. Lakeview Park, West End Park and the Alabama State Fairgrounds are all in Birmingham. See [1] for more details. --Wheresdib 10:07, 1 February 2007 (PST)

Yeah, thanks. I was just noticing that at al.com's Iron Bowl history page. But I'm confused. West End Park is apparently an old name for Kelly Ingram Park. Did the park really host a football field back in the early 1900s? --Lkseitz 10:15, 1 February 2007 (PST)
It's not unlikely that a game would have been played there. These were basically club teams at the time. No need for a lot of bleachers or a jumbotron or anything. (PS, I like templates to be as small and simple as possible.) --Dystopos 10:29, 1 February 2007 (PST)
The last reference to West End Park says that 4,600 people showed up for the 1905 game. The next year it was moved to the fairgrounds. That would make sense if it was in Kelly Ingram Park. --Wheresdib 10:32, 1 February 2007 (PST)
