Thomas W. Stubbs, Jr (born 1923 - died April 30, 2007) was a World War II veteran and a former Alabama State Senator, representing State Senate District 17 from 1967 to 1975.
Stubbs, who was a member of Auburn University's ROTC before enlisting, served as a lietenant for a forward observation artillery team in the Second Infantry Division in Europe during World War II. He received a Silver Star, Bronze Star and Purple Heart for his actions at the Battle of the Bulge and the liberation of Czechoslovakia.
As a State Senator, Stubbs worked to fund programs at the University of Montevallo and to protect the Cahaba River. He donated his salary toward scholarships for college students.
Stubbs, who lived in Helena, died at the age of 83 in April 2007. He was survived by two sons, Thomas and Samuel, and a daughter, Mabel.
