Zion Spring Baptist Church is located at 528 41st Street North in North Avondale. In 1946 its address was listed as 4201 5th Court North. Adam Mixon is the pastor. Because of its participation in the Alabama Christian Movement for Human Rights it was recognized by the Birmingham Historical Society as a "movement church".

In 2022 it began hosting the weekly services of The Abbey, a congregation of the Episcopal Diocese of Alabama.
