The Birmingham Area Council (Council #2), known briefly later as the Central Alabama Council, of the Boy Scouts of America was a council covering portions of Jefferson County.

The Council was formed in Birmingham in 1915. Around 1927, it absorbed the South Jefferson County Council in Bessemer. The Council continued under the Birmingham Area name until January 1, 1996, when it became the Central Alabama Council. Two years later, on January 1, 1998, the Council merged with the Choccolocco and Tennessee Valley Councils to become the Greater Alabama Council.

The offices of the Birmingham Area Council were located in the Bottega Favorita building at 2240 Highland Avenue in the 1970s.
