Immediate
Immediate is a financial services firm which works with employers to facilitate "on-demand early access pay" onto debit cards, along with financial wellness tools, reducing hourly workers' reliance on check cashing and payday loan services.
It was founded in 2019 by Matt Pierce and Jason Gwizdala. Its offices were originally located in Birmingham's Innovation Depot. Mason Beard was hired in 2020 as the company's chief strategy officer.
In 2020 Immediate partnered with Simpeo to provide financial wellness tools to its clients' employees. In 2021 the company closed a $15.5 round of investment capital for expanding its sales and marketing efforts. In April of that year it signed Steward Health Care of Dallas, Texas to its list of clients.
In December 2021 Immediate announced plans to relocate to new offices at 2820 Central Avenue in Homewood. Chambless King Architects designed the renovations, which were constructed by WatsonBruhn Builders. They moved into their new offices in November 2022.
In 2023 the company raised $16 million in a round of funding led by Castle Creek Launchpad of Oakland, California through SouthPoint Bank.
