Jennie Rayfield

Jennie Hutchings Rayfield (born 1883 in Clarksville, Tennessee; died April 29, 1929 in Birmingham) was the wife of architect Wallace Rayfield.

Jennie was a student at Tuskegee Institute in 1907 when she married Rayfield. He had been a professor there before resigning that year to pursue his own career in Birmingham. They initially settled into a house at 109 Corilla Street (now Center Place South), while he began construction of a family home at 105 1st Avenue South in North Titusville.

Mrs Rayfield bore a daughter, Edith there. She was active socially at St Mark's Episcopal Church and as a member of the Twentieth Century Club.

Mrs Rayfield fell ill in October 1928 and never recovered. She died in April 1929 and was buried in Grace Hill Cemetery.
