This is a List of homicides in 1973. Note that a "homicide" refers to the cause of death as determined by a medical examiner, not to the crime of murder as charged by prosecutors and determined by plea or trial.

  • December 5: Gordon Darnell Zuck, 69, owner of the Jerry Lewis Cinema at Park South Plaza, was found beaten to death at his home at 2509 Beaumont Circle. His wife, Ruth Zuck, and stepson, Richard Zuck, and granddaughter Susan Morton; and two employees, Jackie Farris and Jennifer Worthington, were all indicted for conspiring to murder him. Richard Zuck was convicted of 2nd degree murder and sentenced to 40 years in prison. His conviction was overturned on appeal. Worthington pleaded guilty at trial and was sentenced to 20 years. Morton was convicted at trial of conspiracy to commit murder and was sentenced to 20 years. Farris was also convicted of murder. Ruth Janet Zuck was charged with 1st degree murder, but not convicted.
