Morgan Road, Jefferson County Road 52, is a commercial thoroughfare which extends from just south of Reader's Gap in Bessemer to South Shades Crest Road at the Shelby County line.
The road continues as Shelby County Highway 52 as far as Helena.
A project to widen and improve the southern section of Morgan Road, from Parkwood Road to South Shades Crest Road, won support from the Jefferson County Commission in 2014, though final approval for the $23 million project did not occur until late 2019.
