The 1873 Birmingham municipal election was an election held in January 1873 to elect a new Mayor and Board of Aldermen to govern the young city of Birmingham.
The incumbent Mayor, Thomas Tate, had been appointed to fill the unexpired term of Robert Henley, who had resigned his office due to tuberculosis. That term ended on December 31 and the election was held within a few days. The contest drew a total of 658 voters.
