Alacare Home Health & Hospice

Alacare Home Health & Hospice was a private company that operated home health and hospice facilities statewide. Its headquarters offices were at 2400 John Hawkins Parkway in Hoover.

The company was founded by Charles Beard Jr in 1970 and later passed to his children. Susan Brouillette was CEO and John Beard was president. The company reported revenues of $117 million in 2018.

In April 2019 it was announced that Alacare would be acquired by Encompass Health.
