The Back Forty Beer Company (BFBC) is a brewery owned by partners Jason Wilson and Zach Folmar with help from brewmaster Jamie Ray.

The company had their products contract-brewed at Lazy Magnolia brewery in Kiln, Mississippi; until building their own brewery in Gadsden brewery. The brewery's main taproom opened to the public in February 2012.

Back Forty's "Truck Stop Honey Brown Ale" won a silver medal at the Great American Beer Festival in Denver, Colorado in 2010.

Back Forty opened its first "satellite location", Back Forty Birmingham, at Sloss Docks in Birmingham on July 21, 2018. The new tap room features a 1 1/2-acre beer garden and a full-service pub kitchen headed by Russ Bodner. Jamie Ray and Tosh Brown head up the satellite brewing operation, which produces "Birmingham only" seasonal and experimental beers, which are served alongside the brewery's flagship beers.

In 2020 the brewery leased an additional 5,000 square feet to expand its barrel program and provide more event space.
