Reverend Cedric Brown was the senior pastor of New City Church in Downtown Birmingham. He took the pulpit on April 22, 2006, succeeding church founder Gerald Austin who stepped down to focus on the Center for Urban Missions. Later, in June 2009, he founded Destiny Covenant Church in Tarrant.
