Communicating Vessels is a Birmingham-based independent record label founded in 2011 by Jeffrey Cain and Jim Fahy with offices at 55th Place Arts in Woodlawn. The label sets itself apart by favoring a "lushness of atmosphere" in recordings, and by releasing 7" vinyl discs alongside compact discs, each with links for free digital downloads.
Currently the label represents The Grenadines, The Green Seed, Preston Lovinggood, Shaheed & DJ Supreme, The Great Book of John, Dead Snares, Isidore, Sanders Bohlke, Duquette Johnston, Cedric LeMoyne and Remy Zero. Former label artists include Gregory Slay, The Gum Creek Killers, O+S and Wooden Wand.
