The Excelsior Bakery was a bakery and confectionery operated by J. E. Heins and Rothenhoffer at 2027 2nd Avenue North beginning in 1886. In addition to "French candies", the business offered an assortment of "toys, dolls and Christmas presents" during the holiday season.

By 1914 the Excelsior, which had been acquired by the Jebeles & Colias Confectionery Co., had moved into the Raden building at 200 22nd Street South and was known as "the largest Greek bakery in the city," supplying numerous Greek-owned restaurants and shops.
