- 2006: Alabaster CityFest was held.
- Birmingham Steeldogs 31 - Everett Hawks 40 at Everett.
- 1985: Birmingham Stallions 29 - Houston Gamblers 27.
- 1984: Arizona Wranglers 38 - Birmingham Stallions 28 at Legion Field
- 1979: North Birmingham Church of God was rededicated as Lynnwood Church of God.
- 1965: Mike Shula, future head coach of the University of Alabama football team, was born.
- 1927: Bus service to the Hollywood subdivision from downtown Birmingham began.
- 1904: Industrial High School held its first graduation at the 16th Street Baptist Church.
- 1872: Irondale's first post office was established.
