The Leeds News was currently owned by Community Newspaper Holdings, Inc, a Montgomery-based company which owns newspapers, television stations, Web sites and niche publications which serve more than 150 communities throughout the United States.

The Leeds News covered communities in Jefferson, Shelby and St Clair counties, including Leeds, Moody, and Odenville. It was published on Wednesdays. For a short time, it published a Saturday edition as well.

The paper's last offices were located at 8024 Parkway Drive.

CNHI shut the paper down at the end of 2011, combining its readership with the St. Clair News-Aegis.
