This is a list of Birmingham recreation centers, made up of those operated by the Birmingham Park and Recreation Board.

2011 closings

In preparing to submit his 2011 Birmingham budget, Mayor William Bell asked Park & Recreation Board director Melvin Miller to provide a list of nine of the city's 19 recreation centers that he could recommend for temporary closure in order to cut costs. The list included Fountain Heights Park Recreation Center, Howze-Sanford Recreation Center, Willow Wood Recreation Center, Harrison Park Recreation Center, Martin Luther King, Jr Park Recreation Center, Jimmie Hudson Recreation Center, Roosevelt City Recreation Center, Harriman Park Recreation Center and Henry Crompton Recreation Center.
