The case was reopened by cold-case investigators from the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office in 2005. They identified the shooter as a man currently serving time in federal prison in Missouri. He has not yet been charged. An accomplice, Mac Wayne Early, was charged and pleaded guilty in January 2008. He was sentenced to 20 years with a minimum of 2 served and 5 years probation. [1]
