McCormick & Schmick's

McCormick & Schmick's was a seafood restaurant located on the eastern end of Brookwood Village. Part of a Portland, Oregon-based chain, the 250-seat restaurant featured Pacific Northwest-inspired specialties alongside regional seafood dishes.

Developed at a cost of $3.5 million, the 8,500-square foot restaurant opened on May 24, 2004. The building was designed by Boora Architects of Portland and constructed by the Stone Building Company. The interior was decorated with tributes to Birmingham's industrial heritage, as well as memorabilia of Bear Bryant's coaching career. A large stained glass dome was installed over the bar.

Kevin Buckley, formerly with Buffalo's American Grille in Tuscaloosa, was general manager. Rex Horrell was the restaurant's executive chef.

McCormick & Schmick's was acquired by the Houston, Texas-based Landry's Inc. in 2011. The chain's Mountain Brook location was closed on January 2, 2012.
