Sarah Louise "Sally" Nemeth (born 1959 in Chicago, Illinois; died July 30, 2021 in Los Angeles, California) was a playwright, screenwriter, novelist and educator.

Sally was one of three daughters born to Edward and Nancy Nemeth of Chicago. During her childhood the family lived in Ogden Dunes, Indiana and Wilmington, Deleware before moving to Birmingham. She attended the Alabama School of Fine Arts and transferred to Indian Springs School as one of its first female graduates. She returned to Chicago to earn her bachelor's degree in theater at Northwestern University, where she was mentored by Linda Jenkins. After graduating in 1981 she labored in Chicago's "Off Loop" theaters, and co-founded the Chicago New Plays Festival Company with Steve Scott, and Linda Walsh Jenkins.

Nemeth then relocated to New York City, and soon saw one of her plays Holy Days premiere at London's Soho Poly Theatre in 1988 and go on to win several Fringe Theatre awards. It had its U.S. premiere at South Coast Repertory in Costa Mesa, California, garnering more accolades from the Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle. Her next play, Mill Fire, premiered in 1989 at Chicago's Goodman Theatre and London's Bush Theatre. She continued to write under grants from the National Endowment for the Arts and the New York Foundation for the Arts.

Nemeth relocated to Los Angeles, California in 1995 and began writing for for television, beginning with episodes of Law & Order. She also taught screenwriting at Loyola Marymount University. She married David Willis in 2015. During the COVID pandemic she was active in the "Auntie Sewing Squad" which manufactured protective masks for Kaiser Hospital, and later for disadvantaged communities in Los Angeles. In early 2021 she was diagnosed with myelodysplastic syndromes and died from complications that July.
