The UAB Health System is comprised of 16 hospitals that include UAB Hospital (Main & Highlands) and the Callahan Eye Foundation Hospital. Seven of these hospitals are members of the UAB Health System. The Health System provides these facilities with governance, co-branding, recruitment, strategic clinical programs, and various operational support functions such as supply chain, revenue cycle, IT, compliance, insurance, and risk management. The remaining 9 hospitals are Affiliates. The UAB Health System partners with them on strategic clinical programs and collaborates with them on administrative functions, clinical programs, and patient advocacy.
