West Valley Avenue is an east-west road that was built in the 1970s as an extension of Valley Avenue from Green Springs Highway to Montevallo Road (Elyton)/Barber Court. At it approaches Montevallo Road/Barber Court, the road turns south. It then becomes West Oxmoor Road on the south side of the intersection.
