- November 11: James Mitchell was stabbed to death during an Armistice Day dance at the Colored Masonic Temple over an argument about a girl. The assailant, Lidnsey Posey, fled down 4th Avenue North with a large group of witnesses in pursuit. They pulled him off of a car at 20th Street North and were in the process of pummeling him when one of the group summoned police. Posey was charged with first degree murder. (report)
