9th Avenue North Bessemer is a major northeast-southwest route through Bessemer, a continuation of the Bessemer Super Highway (U.S. Highway 11) leading from Birmingham.
9th Avenue North begins at the intersection of Cairo Avenue and Wilkes Road in Midfield and extends through bits of Birmingham's Roosevelt neighborhood and Brighton before crossing over Valley Creek into Bessemer. It continues through downtown Bessemer before changing to 9th Avenue Southwest as it crosses Somerset Boulevard about a third of a mile northeast of Splash Adventure Parkway.
