Burrell Bass or Basse (born 1752 in Duplin or Brunswick County, North Carolina - died August 23, 1831 near Red Gap) was a Revolutionary War veteran and the first settler of Roebuck Springs.

Bass was the son of Virginia-born Richard Bass and his wife, Elizabeth. He and his wife, also named Elizabeth, had four sons: Willis (born 1791), Burrell, Jr (born 1792), Richard (born 1794) and Andrew (born 1804). In 1813 the family moved from Anson County, North Carolina to a homestead off the Georgia Road near Roebuck Springs, 11 miles northeast of Elyton.

Basse died in 1831 and is buried at the Bass Cemetery in Irondale.
