Dunavant Valley Oaks

Dunavant Valley Oaks is an undeveloped 1,633-acre parcel of property in northern Shelby County, with about 60 acres crossing over into southern Jefferson County. It stretches from the southern slope of Oak Mountain to Dunnavant Valley Road (Shelby County Road 41), north of Lake Wehapa. It has been owned by the family of C. Molton Williams, former president of Molton, Allen & Williams and founder of Brigham-Williams & Associates, since 1973. The family has used it solely for recreation.

Most of the property is forested with mature hardwoods, with some stands of centuries-old longleaf pine and younger, but still mature loblolly pine. On the upper reaches of the site, rare specimens of Alabama sandstone oak were found. One cabin is located on a 5-acre lake on property. There are a series of smaller ponds, as well as small clearings used as feeding stations for deer management. Three power easements traverse the parcel.

In 2024 the property was offered for sale through Tom Brickman of Cyprus Partners, with an asking price of $18 million.
