Leeds City Schools are administered by the Leeds Board of Education and serve the City of Leeds and include Leeds High School, Leeds Middle School, and Leeds Elementary School. The Board's offices are at 1404 8th Street.

The superintendent for the system is John Moore, who succeeded Billy Pack after his June 30, 2009 retirement.

Leeds High School graduate Charles Barkley has been a major donor to the system, funding scholarships for graduates, supporting boys and girls basketball, purchasing laptops and other technology, and giving bonus checks to all of the system's 226 employees.

In 2021 the system was awarded $5,457,693 ($2,782/student) in federal Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief (ESSER) funds tied to the COVID-19 pandemic.
