Matthew Legace

Matthew Legace (born in Kansas City, Missouri) is the executive chef of Bellini's Ristorante & Bar on Cahaba Valley Road in Hoover.

Legace is the son of former Birmingham Bulls player Jean-Guy Legace and grew up in Birmingham. He was interested in cooking from a young age and learned from his mother, Pat, and from classes at UAB Special Studies before completing a course of study at Culinard in 2001.

Legace worked as sous chef at Nonna Rose and executive chef at Prairie Fire Grille and Michael's Steaks and Seafood in Hoover. He was part of the original staff at Bellini's, but left in 2009 to create the menu for Rogue Tavern on 2nd Avenue North. In 2012 he was brought back to Bellini's as executive chef.
