Metropolitan AME Zion Church

Metropolitan African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church is located at 1530 4th Avenue North. The congregation was organized in 1885 and the present brick Gothic revival church erected in 1955. Turner, Smith and Batson were the architects. An earlier building was erected in 1903. The church played a prominent role in the Civil Rights Movement. Among its pastors was Erskine Faush.
