Spencer Shoults

Spencer C. "Spin" Shoults (born August 7, 1977 in Meridian, Mississippi; died July 9, 2017) was an artist and drummer.

Shoults was the son of Randy and Lyn Shoults. He graduated from the Carver Creative and Performing Arts Center and from Robert E. Lee High School in Montgomery in 1995. He completed a bachelor's degree in fine arts with a concentration on printmakingat the University of Montevallo in 2001 and began working at Birmingham Children's Theatre as technical director in 2006. In August 2012 he began working as a preparator at the Birmingham Museum of Art.

As a musician, Shoults performed with Teen Getaway and the Nowhere Squares. Shoults was honored as the "Emerging Artist" for Magic City Art Connection in 2009.

Shoults was diagnosed with metastatic melanoma in 2012. He died from complications of that disease in 2017.
