The Church at GrantsMill was founded on April 2, 1892 as Irondale Baptist Church and was renamed First Baptist Church of Irondale in July 1956. It is located at 6001 Old Leeds Road, in Irondale.
Its previous building was at the corner of 2nd Avenue South and 20th Street South in central Irondale. Its brick Romanesque-revival sanctuary on that site was dedicated on July 22, 1956. Ground was broken for that building in September 1955. It was designed by Charles McCauley and the contractor was G. B. Ellard.
