The Blanch Barnard residence is a former brothel located at 2227 1st Avenue South in what was once Birmingham's "red light district". The two-story, three bay townhouse was constructed in 1907 in a neo-Classical style with beige face brick and limestone trim. The facade is set back from the street, with the entrance stairs flanked by raised planting beds. The recessed entry opens into a stair hall with parlors on either side.
The building has been used by Jackson Galleries antiques, and is currently the offices of Walding LLC attorneys.
