Operation Hit Back is a Birmingham Police Department operation which focusses on serving outstanding domestic violence warrants. The aim of the program is to reduce violent crime by addressing domestic disputes before they escalate to violence. Domestic disputes have been identified as a common motive for homicides.

The program was initiated in June 2008 under the leadership of Deputy Chief Herman Hinton. It is conducted with intensive periodic sweeps in and outside of Birmingham.
