Mary Ann Sampson is an artist specializing in bookmaking, miniatures and broadsides.
Sampson received her Masters in Books Arts from the University of Alabama. She is the founder of the OEOCO (One-Eye Opera Company) Press, which publishes limited edition letterpress books, custom bookbinding and unique editions.
Exhibitions
- UpSouth (1999) traveled to several venues across Birmingham, including Space One Eleven, the Birmingham Civil Rights Institute, the UAB Visual Arts Gallery, and Agnes. It showed the work of Sampson along with artists Emma Amos and Willie Cole and writer bell hooks, as well as Ann Benton, Priscilla Hancock Cooper, Karen Graffeo, Lee Isaacs, Marie Weaver and Jess Marie Walker.
