The Thomas is the name of the combined former W. S. Brown Mercantile Building at 2223-2225 2nd Avenue North and the adjoining former Harold's Furniture building at 2227. The buildings were connected by Harold Lischkoff in the 1970s or 1980s and purchased and renovated as a single development by architect Louis Nequette in 2017-2018.
Nequette added a fourth-story penthouse for his firm, Nequette Architecture & Design, while preparing the ground floor for retail or restaurant tenants and the second and third floor for loft residences. He named the development in honor of his father, Thomas Nequette.
Artist and interior designer William McLure opened a studio gallery on the ground floor in 2018.
